Gulf Shores is home to the Hangout Music Festival and the Shrimp Festival. The famous Tanger outlets in Foley are just minutes away from Gulf Shores as well.

Gulf Shores has great dining! Restaurants include Mikees, Ribs & Reds, The Hangout, Nolan’s, The Original Oyster House, Shrimp Basket and Lulu’s at Homeport. Lulu’s is owned by Jimmy Buffet’s sister and not only has great food, but a fun atmosphere. The Hangout and Lulu’s both have a water view. Lulu’s is located on the Intercoastal and The Hangout is on Gulf. Many restaurants in the area have private areas/rooms to host a reception following your beach wedding ceremony.
Gulf State Park provides access to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The parks beach pavillion, and the three public beach areas scattered along Alabama highway 182 in Orange Beach, provide plenty of space for relax and play. Wether you are looking for open beach, a spot to surf or fish or you just want to so some people watching, there’s plenty to do at the park’s beaches.
The facilities at the park’s public beach acess area are relatively new. A new beach pavillion was built after Hurricane Ivan destroyed the old one. The new facility, which opened in 2006, is large and better designed to withstand hurricanes. Park facilities at Florida Point, Cotton Bayou and Romar Beach were all built after Hurrican Ivan.
In addition to the Gulf State Park’s beaches, there are four islands in the Terry Cove area that are popular with boaters. There is one public beach in Orange Beach on Wolf Bay. This park and beach area is owned and maintained by the City of Orange Beach.

A flag system to warn of dangerious swimming conditions is used at each of the park’s beach area. The three public beach areas in Orange Beach are maintained with help from the city. Camping, fires, glass containers and pets are prohibited at all the park’s beach access areas.
